Aziim was a tavern boy who was noticed by a local free blade captain. Once the young Aziim filled out he was recruited and trained in the way of the bladed warrior. Focusing on speed rather than strength, Aziim was sent by the free blades to northern border of the Empire to work. He saw some action in his time, but found the reverence and respect of the aether. Devoting his life to the understanding and teaching of the Aether, Aziim is in the process of creating a philosophical doctrine to form a standardized religion.
Before the Empire
Aziim Rashiid's freeblade company was stationed on the border of the Empire during a time of stress. While his combat experience was limited to mostly small engagements Aziim comported himself well.
Having heard about Aether from various travelers and specifically weathered old man, Aziim is fascinated with learning all he can and has devoted himself to the pursuit of this knowledge. He has traveled to the heart of the Empire. A pilgrim seeking like minded individuals and great places to study.
Skills and Strategies
- Journal Entry #1 (Season 2, Week 12) "With my journey to the Capital complete, I now see first hand what the rumors and stories on the road have said. Unrest eats the soul of the city like a foul malignancy, festering within it's heart. The rampant maltreatment of those not born to human parents is present in everyday life and the Demi Humans are fleeing like like wild game when a large predator is on the hunt. As I am human, it is expected of me to aid the guard in this task or at least stand by and stay silent. To my shame during the first week I did so. Each new day seems to bring an escalation of mistreatment, beatings, disappearances and lynchings. These deeds are discussed openly and without recourse, many seem to take joy in their former neighbors swift demise. Do they not understand what this truly means? The guards, mostly youths and raw recruits, seem to take delight in fulfilling the new Emperor's command. It is disgusting to watch first hand and even though I am new to the city, I have started helping those in need where I can. Staying quiet and simple, I have been directing the guards to the wrong locations, providing mis-information on the whereabouts of Demi-Humans and even leaving basic supplies like bread and water in simple parcels hidden in sewers and other avenues of escape throughout the city. I am careful to remain unnoticed, as best I can but each day puts me at risk. I seek allies in this endeavor but am unsure where to turn to. For now, simple delays could potentially saves the lives of people who do not deserve such a fate." -A.R.
